Infrared lamps and photobiomodulation
An infrared lamp describes a light source. Photobiomodulation, or PBM, describes a method investigated in research. The futsal trial cited here used a combination of lasers and LEDs. Its results cannot be transferred directly to a different infrared lamp.
What do the studies show?
The futsal study reported positive results; the judo trial found no benefit for the fatigue and muscle damage outcomes tested. These are two research examples, not a comprehensive review. They do not establish treatment effects for IRELT equipment.
